School Tax Credit Donation

An individual may claim a nonrefundable tax credit for making contributions or paying fees directly to a public school in this state for the support of extracurricular activities. The maximum credit allowed is $400 for married filing joint filers and $200 for single, heads of household and married filing separate filers. (Source: Arizona Department of Revenue)

Donations made by April 15, 2024, maybe taken on your 2023 tax return. The state of Arizona offers taxpayers the chance to make contributions to schools and non-profit organizations that reduce the amount of tax owed to the state or increase the amount of the taxpayer’s refund, dollar-for-dollar. There is NO NET COST to the donor, and deserving individuals around the state can benefit. There are three main communities tax credit donations serve, and donors can contribute to any or all of them.   • $25 helps a student apply for their AZ Drivers License
  • $64 provides one student with a months bus pass
  • $82 pays for a student to test for their HS Equivelancy Diploma
  • $100 assists a student with a utility bill
  • $140 pays for a student to test for their IT Fundamentals or CNA License
Each dollar you donate helps to prepare our participants for work, helps them graduate from high school or gain a H.S. equivalency diploma. Our career advisors and teachers help develop self-esteem and boost confidence and be inspired by their own success. Your generous donations will help our participants in so many ways.
